PROGRAMS FOR PRESERVATION OF TIBETAN CULTURAL HERITAGE

From 2004 to 2007 Kham Aid teamed up with Winrock International and
Fauna & Flora International to create the Sustainable Tibetan Communities project in western Kangding County.  Kham Aid developed an array of cultural heritage projects, many of which are continuing into 2008 and beyond. Read about them in this comprehensive report.

Other Kham Aid cultural heritage projects:

Rescuing the Minyak language

Preservation of ancient architecture and art

Vocational training in traditional Tibetan construction

Artisan training and handicrafts development

We also serve as advisors to Winrock's grants program.  In this role we assisted local Tibetan organizations with the following:

Training for monks on fire prevention

 Conference on cultural heritage conservation
