Wheelchair Program 2008  -  CALL FOR SPONSORS

Our Wheelchair Program trip in April 2007 was a great success! Thank you to all of our generous sponsors! We could have done it without your support. We raised enough funds to help 66 disable people in Dege and Sershul counties. Our original goal was to bring 50 wheelchairs; but, even with the additional funds, many needy people were left without wheelchairs. We need your help for 2008! There are many people living in Sichuan province who need your help. Please see some of the people we were able to help this year, thanks to our wonderful donors. You may also want to read an article written by Henrik Bork, which chronicals "Jaida's Journey."

For donations by mail please fill out our wheelchair sponsorship form; if you prefer to donate electronically then just go straight to our donation page.

Some of the people we helped in 2007:

Danzhen Zuoga, (to the left) age 14, almost did not receive a wheelchair. By the time the team got to her, there were no more pediatric chairs left. However, our dedicated team of experts was able to modify and adult chair with cushions (as shown) and she now has the gift of mobility.

Shi Ro, (to the left) age 57, has been paralyzed for 21 years after he broke his neck.

Some people could not even make it into town to see the team. Dan Zhen is 52 years old and bedridden with tuberculosis of the spine. His son-in-law (left) picks up the wheelchair for him.
